Following consultation with existing Bunkerworld customers and the wider market, there is a demand for a single price assessment by grade to be issued by Platts for each port. Therefore, with effect from January 4, 2016, 57 Bunkerworld daily assessments of Fuel oil 380 cst and 180 cst, MGO and MDO will be aligned with methodology published by Platts, which can be found at the following website: http://www.platts.com/methodology-specifications/oil. MDO will only be assessed in Japan and West Japan.
The impacted ports are: Algeciras, Antwerp, Augusta, Balboa, Buenos Aires, Busan, Canary Islands, Cartagena, Ceuta, Charleston, Colombo, Dakar, Durban, Falmouth, Fos, Fujairah, Gdansk, Genoa, Gibraltar, Gothenburg, Great Belt, Guayaquil, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Houston, Istanbul, Khor Fakkan, Kuwait, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Montevideo, Montreal, Mumbai, New Orleans, New York, Norfolk VA, Novorossiysk, Offshore-Nigeria, Panama Canal, Philadelphia, Piraeus, Portland OR, Osaka (to be re-labelled as West Japan), Rotterdam, San Francisco, Santos, Savannah, Seattle, Shanghai, Singapore, St Petersburg, Suez, Sydney, Tokyo (to be re-labelled as Japan), Trieste, Valparaiso, Vancouver BC.
These assessments will now be the same as those published in other Platts publications and services.
